2 fathers are accused of killing one other’s young kids after a claimed road rage incident in Florida. Let’s take a closer look at why William Hale and Frank Allison were apprehended and why the dads attempted to murder each other’s daughters.
Why did William Hale and Frank Allison got arrested?
According to the Nassau County Police department, William Hale, 36, and Frank Allison, 43, are both accused of attempting to kill in the incident on October 8 near Jacksonville.
According to the police report, Hale and Allison got into a driving altercation while traveling with their families in separate automobiles. The two men were accused of “brake testing each other” while driving erratically along US Highway 1.
Deputies apparently spoke to Hale while he was driving a black Dodge Ram. They stated Hale told them he had a vehicle rage incident with Allison’s Nissan Murano. Based on the complaint, Hale and his family were driving back to Georgia from Jacksonville when Allison reportedly tried to shove Hale off the road.

Why did the fathers try to kill each other’s daughters?
In the center of the road, William Hale and Frank Allison battled. “Two dumb grown guys might have killed two children,” Nassau Sheriff’s department Bill Leeper stated during a press conference. Somebody in Hale’s truck, based on the allegation, threw a bottle of water into Allison’s vehicle after somebody in Allison’s vehicle began disparaging Hale.
Allison then took out his Sig Saur 45mm rifle and fired one bullet at Hale’s vehicle before racing away, as per Leeper. The gunfire injured Hale’s 5-year-old daughter in the leg.
When Hale saw his child had been wounded, he reportedly pursued Allison’s truck and fired several shots from his Glock 43 9mm pistol. Allison’s 14-year-old daughter was hit in the back by one of the gunshots, collapsing a lung.
After seeing a police officer waiting on the side of the road, both cars came to a halt. During a news conference, Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper reported that as both men got out of their vehicles, they began fighting, and a policeman had to break them up. They were both arrested. As per Officer Leeper, “two stupid grown men might have killed two children.”
What happened after the incident?
A witness called 911 to report that the two men were speeding and “brake-checking” each other.
According to the witness, the two guys were playing a “cat and mouse” game on the road.
Both children were sent to the hospital. Both are expected to recover from their injuries. As per the Report, both men have been charged with second-degree attempted murder. They have both been released after paying $150,000 bonds.
They have not yet entered a plea, and there aren’t any lawyers authorized to speak on their behalf mentioned in the court record. Leeper considers both guys lucky that no one was murdered in the event.
