Seerat Kapoor talks about the changes she sees in her life after joining the cast of ‘Imli’

Actress Seerat Kapoor, who recently debuted in a Hindi television show with Imla, is winning a lot of love for her role as Chinna. During an interview with ETimes TV, Seerat spoke about the changes she sees in her life post Imla.

Talking about who Seerat really is, she said, “You know that girl in your school who was very simple, followed all the rules, was every teacher’s favorite, participated in every possible activity and never got into trouble. Well, it’s me, Sirat. I think I am a child with an old soul. Many materialistic things do not interest me, including luxury clothes and shoes, the latest electronics, food and parties in hi-fi clubs. In short, I love being middle class. If you tell me something, there is a 99.9% chance that I will believe you. Call me gullible, but for me it’s because I believe that people are inherently good. Until I’m 100% sure, I’d like to believe they’re being honest rather than harbor negative feelings assuming they might be lying. I’m generally a very social person, but not a group person as there are only a few special people I’m really close to and they’re all very different from each other.’

She added: “So Seerat is ambitious, but she has clear priorities. Family is the most important element in my life, as well as my friends who are also my family. Career takes third place, and then the whole rest of the world. I give my best in everything, you can even call me an extreme extremist. I love to talk, share and communicate with anyone.”

When asked what she likes to do in her spare time, Seerat said, “Weekends are usually my rest days if I shoot continuously. If I get more than once, I try to do something that rejuvenates me. I have vacation days, I like to dance, so that’s what I do, I try to spend as much time as possible with my family on holidays. I also try to exercise as much as possible because it’s hard on shooting days.”

Talking about Imli and how it has changed her life, she said, “Imli is my first Hindi daily soap, so it’s a completely new experience for me. I work out almost every day and it has changed my lifestyle dramatically. Managing work, health and personal life is a skill I am still learning. As an actor, I have changed a lot in these few months. Everyone I work with is extremely talented and hardworking. It’s great to know them and learn from them every day. I can’t even explain how lucky I am to have a director like Ashish sir. He was a guide, a mentor and a great teacher.”

When asked about her hobbies, she shared, “I’m a creative soul, so anything creative interests me. I love drawing, mandalas and even using mechani. Whenever I want to feel accomplished, I try to create something from scratch. I am a reader. I never feel lonely because I always have books or my Kindle with me. I also love to write, I mostly write poems in English and Hindi. I hope to write a song one day, so I plan to study music as soon as I can. But I’m still learning how to write stories.”

Talking about her fitness mantra, Seerat said, “I’m going to admit that it’s not easy to maintain a healthy lifestyle while working. But I think I get it. First of all, I watch what I eat throughout the day. I try to keep everything balanced. Second, I believe that more than fitness, I need to manage my peace of mind first. That’s why I focus on yoga, and with it I try to move my body as much as possible. Let it be a bit of stretching during the day and a walk when I can, even for a few minutes. I just try not to sit in one place.”
