Noted singer Shivamogga Subbanna passes away at the age of 83

Shivamogga Subbanna, a well-known Kannada musician, died of a heart attack in a hospital here on Thursday night. This information was provided by sources close to his family. “He (Subbanna) was brought to Jayadeva Hospital in the city, where he died,” a source added. He leaves behind a son and a daughter. Subbanna was the first Kannada singer to be honored with a National Award for playback singing. He received this prize for his performance in the film ‘Kaadu Kudure‘ of the song ‘Kaadu Kudure Odi Banditta.’ Shivamogga Subbanna, a well-known Kannada musician, died of a heart attack at a hospital here on Thursday night, according to family members. He was 83 years old at the time. “He was admitted to the city’s Jaydev Hospital, where he died,” a source added. His family consists of one son and one daughter.

Who is Shivamogga Subbanna?

Subbanna was the first Kannadiga to receive a National Award for playback singing for his role in the film “Kaadu Kudure” with the song “Kaadu Kudure Odi Bandita.” Subbanna is well-known for her work in the field of ‘Sugama Sangeeta,’ a genre in which Kannada poetry is put to music. She has performed on and sang poems by prominent poets such as Kuvempu and Da Ra Bendre, and has garnered various accolades and distinctions. He was also a lawyer and a performer for All India Radio and Doordarshan.
