Lori Guffey

The entire Cypress Christian School community is in mourning after the sudden passing of beloved teacher Lori Guffey. Lori was a caring and talented educator, who had spent her life teaching in Galloway, Ohio, and was a member of the Prosperity Institute. Her death has come as a shock to the school, parents, and students, as she was not known to have been suffering from any illness.

Since the news of her passing was announced, many have taken to social media to pay tribute to Lori and her family who are dealing with a difficult time. Lori was born in Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from Westland High School in 1985. She then went on to pursue a degree in elementary education at Malone College in Ohio, graduating in 1989. In 2003, she earned a master’s degree in education from Margrove College.

In August 1993, Lori began her teaching journey at Westgate Friends Preschool, where she taught Kindergarten until 1995. She then moved to Cypress Christian School, where she became well-known and beloved by her students and parents. Lori passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023. Her family announced her death on Facebook, saying: “Dear friends, it is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my wife, friend, mother, daughter, sister, and follower of Christ.”

The loss of Lori Guffey has been felt deeply by the school and all those who knew her. Her former and current students, family, and friends will always remember her. Social media has been filled with tributes to Lori, as people share the moments they had with her. Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.
