Paul was born in the London neighborhood of Willesden. He was 51 at the time of his death. Paul, in addition to being a musician and songwriter, was also a performer and composer. He trained in Obe and violin and performed with his band in the three-piece Faustus and folk comedy duet Belshazzar’s feast. Paul began his studies at Anson Primary School before moving on to the Purcell School as a young pianist. During the time before joining his school and university, he sometimes used to play music with a band group named Gloria. He also performed music for the English National Opera’s Baylis project.
Paul did his degree in the Royal Music School during the period he was leaving Oxford University and serving at Christ Church, and he was also asked to join the group Life of Reilly. He recruited the feast, and the duo played for various occasions such as Ceilidhs, as well as numerous casual dances. The pair became known for their musical humor. Paul created a group with Charities Superact and released two albums, The First Cut and Bet. He served as a vocalist at Edward’s high school in Oxford in 1999. After taking over as director of the Andover Museum loft in 2000, he founded a non-auditioning community chorus.
