BTS announces hiatus to focus on solo careers and “Return Someday”

Grammy-nominated, popular group BTS surprised their fans when they announced on June 14 that they are taking a break from their group activities and will focus on their solo activities. But they have also said that they are not separating.

BTS started crying when the video talked about their entire journey and experiences. Suga uploaded the video on their YouTube channel saying “We are going on hiatus right now,”

RM said that ‘To gather like this today and shoot content I’m so glad we are BTS’. ‘What would I have done if we weren’t BTS?’ I am very happy that we started music together and became BTS because we had a special message for the whole world. I don’t know what I will do but when Covid-19 came, we did ‘Dynamite,’ ‘Butter,’ ‘Permission to Dance,’ ‘Life Goes On‘. And I understand that the group has changed. And we have to accept this too. For me, it was like I was in my hands till BTS group ‘ON‘ and ‘Dynamite‘ but after ‘Butter‘ and ‘Permission to Dance,’ I didn’t know what kind of group we were now. He was very sad about this.

RM added, that whenever I wrote lyrics and songs, I had to keep in mind what kind of story and message I want to convey, it was very important. But maybe now it seems that it is all gone. But now I do not know what kind of story should I tell to the public. I always felt that the BTS group is very different from other groups. But there’s a problem with K-pop and the entire idol system that they don’t give you time to mature. You have to produce music and keep doing something new.

It’s not all about music and work, he said. I have changed in these 10 years. That’s why I need some more time to think and be alone. And maybe it will be something different for me. I could have balanced it properly with earlier work but by staying and working together for 10 years as BTS, I can’t mature. Here is something that I want to do in this world when we are at our best.

Jimin said we’ve come to think about what type of artists we desire to be recognized as our lovers. And maybe that’s why we’re going through a tough time right now. And we’re trying to find our identity, and it’s a long way.

According to the group, both J-Hope and Suga’s solo releases are planned. Both have released their solo mixtapes in the past year. Jungkook also said that he would release his solo album.
